Course Name: Humanity in Perspective - 2 courses

I am director of programs for Oregon Humanities, which oversees two courses called Humanity in Perspective (HIP), a two-semester course in Portland with Reed College and a single-semester summer program in Salem with Willamette University. For three years, we offered HIP at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution in Pendleton in partnership with Eastern Oregon University. Our HIP courses were inspired by the Clemente model, and our original course in Portland was one of five sites nationwide developed a decade ago through a grant from the Fund to Improve Postsecondary Education.
