Brief History:
The Bloomfield College Kellman Course in the Humanites is modeled after the Bard College Clemente Course. The Kellman Course was first offered in 2000 with funding from a FIPSE grant awarded to Bard College. The Kellman Course has also received financial support from the NJ Council for the Humanities (2007-2008). The course is named for Martin Kellman, beloved Professor of English who died in 1999. More than 100 students have completed the Kellman Course. Five have gone on to complete their Bachelor's Degrees at Bloomfield College and more Kellman alums are currently enrolled at Bloomfield or other institutions. The Bloomfield College Kellman Course will celebrate its tenth year in June of 2011.
